A bit tardy in my post (thanks, Dr. C, for the reminder). I interviewed at EVMS a couple weeks back. The day started off with a tour (standard) but incorporated a session with a standardized patient (SP), which is big part of the EVMS curriculum, starting in the 1st year. (Think Kramer in Seinfeld). A little odd, but an overall enjoyable experience.
As for the interview...Despite rumors I'd heard about EVMS having a notoriously aggressive interview, I had a remarkably candid and relaxed conversation with my interviewer. We discussed resident work-hour legislation, universal health care, biomedical research, etc. Lasted about 40 min., but seemed to fly by.
Only stayed one night (praise be). Notice: choose your hotel wisely. All in all seemed like a decent school. Students are tight-knit, but there is a definite surfer-vibe. Lots of board shorts and flip-flops. Not bad, just unexpected.
Overall: 2 thumbs up...
